Raspberries: know if your irrigation is right.

Raspberries on substrate need steady irrigation and good water quality. With Drain Monitoring you see for every cycle what goes in and what comes out, how EC and pH behave and how moist your substrate is.

What to watch

What matters with raspberries

1

Drain that is not right

Drain at the first irrigation cycle means the plants stayed too wet overnight. No drain, or drain that comes too late, points to too little water. For every cycle you see what goes in and what comes out, so you can adjust straight away.

2

EC that climbs too high

If the EC in the drain rises, the plant takes up water less easily. See the EC in and out.

3

pH that is off

The pH of the incoming and outgoing water determines how well the plant takes up nutrients.

4

Substrate that is too dry or too wet

Measure the volumetric water content (VWC) and the EC in the substrate itself, plus the temperature, to see whether the substrate is moist enough.

What you measure

This is what you see on your phone

All measurements are in the same app and the same portal, with alarms you set yourself.

  • Drain %, flow in and flow out per irrigation cycle
  • EC in and out
  • pH in and out
  • Volumetric water content (VWC), EC and temperature in the substrate
  • Temperature and humidity (for VPD)

How to set it up for raspberries

  1. 1

    Basis: Drain Monitoring

DMS Basic for drain and flow. DMS EC for EC as well, DMS PHEC for pH and EC, and DMS PHEC PRO for the volumetric water content (VWC), EC and temperature in the substrate.

    Drain Monitoring →

  2. 2

    Add climate

Add temperature and humidity for VPD, and optionally Leaf-to-air to see heat coming.

    Leaf-to-air →Basic Weather →

This is a starting point. We are happy to look together at what suits your business, and prepare a tailored proposal.
